Data Bars on different background colors - Calc vs Excel
Look at Excel's data bar features dialog (attachment 110901 [details]), they have a setting for Border and Border Color to achieve this look.
I confirm the current behavior and the enhancement sounds good to me, so setting to NEW. Win 7 64-bit Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 170616e9f2d30c1302bbb5a7a4b588bc05cd5cc9 TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-12-12_01:58:46 Created attachment 111073 [details]

The gradient itself looks nice now (no more color banding), but the bars now cover the cell borders (see attachment).
If no gradient is used (Fill: Color) it works fine.
So can this bug be seen as resolved and a new one should be filed (I could not find a related report yet) or is this related enough to keep this one going?

As Jay said "Excel fixes this issue by having the data bar color used as a 1-pixel inner stroke around each data bar" let's keep this open. |
Created attachment 110896 [details] sample file When creating conditional formatting data bars on non-white cell backgrounds, the data bar gradient fade to white doesnt look that nice. Excel fixes this issue by having the data bar color used as a 1-pixel inner stroke around each data bar.
