Description leo 2017-06-29 14:04:32 UTC
Description:
Hi,
my company is using impress to present our services to clients. In one of our presentations, we have a pretty heavy slide, with various items that appear one by one.
The problem is that when we edit the .odp, everything appears good, same when we export it as a .pdf file. But when we view it on full screen, using impress, the image is having some appearance bugs (unwanted lines or shapes appear on the slide).
Also, this happens in every computer we've tried it on.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open .odp file
2. go to this particular slide
3. activate fullscreen mode

Actual Results:
the screen has unwanted line and shapes

Expected Results:
have the slide appear as it does when we watch it in editing mode or as a .pdf file.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

If the document contains information you do not want public, please somehow try to figure out a way to create a minimal reproducer case and attach to this report. If it is larger than 10MB, then use a file hosting service like http://wikisend.com/

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the document.

Just the "bugged" slide I was talking about

So, i isolated the slide I was talking about, you need to preview it on fullscreen and you'll see what i'm talking about (the lines and stuff appearing).

it's only impress objects

So i asked the creator of this presentation, he says it's only impress objects, nothing else.
I attached an enlightened version of the same slide, that still shows the same bug.
Thanks a lot for answering so quickly !

So, is there anything we can do?
Comment 6 Timur 2017-07-05 11:57:59 UTC
Since this is Linux-only now, probably not related to Windows Bug 40534 that is related to large screen/high resolution.
But please anyway note resolution and try with some smaller resolution.
Please try with hardware acceleration disabled.

We need to find out when and why it started, is this some recent error or it was always like this, since OpenOffice.

In Linux you may use Bash Script from http://pastebin.com/L6SFSYFR (just run /bin/LO-extract.sh) to Extract Parallel LO (no installation) from downloaded and unzipped LO folder with DEBS.
Then you may test newer LO 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and master 6.0+. But you may also test older versions to find earliest version affected.
Please note different Bug 107090 from LO 5.3.

I confirm the bug! but with really different effects.
I uploaded two screenshots for ease: https://imgur.com/a/Vr1JahR

in the first, it shows what I see just opening the .odp file
in the second, it shows the (F5) full-screen appearance and as you can see it misses much elements.

my system,

Dear leo,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team
